Will a new Expansion Pack for Sims 3 overwrite the last one?

I added 'World Adventures'to my Sims 3 game a while ago, but I have lost the disk. So I'm wondering whether buying and loading another one will mean that I can use that for the game. Or will it overwrite it so I lose the world adventures element? Please help me... :/
