Red Dead Redemption Disk problems?

So i was playing red dead redemption in the guest room and it was working fine until i switched over to the living room T.V..(the XBOX turned off then back on when i put in the hdmi cord) and the game started .It only got to the very beginning which is when the chamber is being shot and it shows the rock-star purple and orange emblems, after that it just goes black, i haven't sat there and waited really long to see if it continues so i just tried again but it did the same thing. i took out the CD and there was a huge scratch that made a perfect circle going around near the edges of the CD. Im guessing since it was a perfect circle that it was scratched inside the XBOX i'm afraid that if i put in another CD that it will scratch it too. I was wondering if there anything i can do to try to get whatever that was inside the XBOX out? if so how? and does anybody know of anything i can do to try and remove/fill the scratch?or should i just go to game stop and ask if they have something to buff it out, and is it expensive?
