What do you do with a wild baby rabbit?

our cat caught a wild baby rabbit and we dont know what the appropriate action is for the rabbit. we don't know about releasing it right away for fear the cat will just get it again. for right now, it's in our cat's "travel cage" with some food. any knowledge on this subject?
