Training weights for ankle and wrist bad for your health?

I want to start kick boxing, and I want to use ankle and wrist weights for when I train... I was looking at sand weights and I was wondering if it is unhealthy to leave ankle and wrist weights on maybe 1-2 kilos 24/7? Except for when I sleep, what would be the appropriate weight to use 24/7?
